lyrics

I was out in the ocean.
I was down underneath.
I was swallowing water.
I could hardly breath.
You were there by the shore.
The ground was giving way.
And I just couldn’t see.
And thought I heard you say:

My love is going down to the deep.
My love is laying down to sleep.

I couldn’t think for the silence
And the ringing sound.
An emptiness akin to violence
Was holding me down.
I was seeing faces
Where there were shades.
I just couldn’t speak
Though I thought I heard you say:

My love is going down to the deep.
My love is laying down to sleep.
